We cleaned this many times, made everyone's lunches for the next day and did dishes.
Mom: You kids did a good job - looks nice and clean and neat, doesn't it?
Me: This must have been before microwaves...i don't see one here...what was that above the burners on the stove..a broiler or something? You bought all that new for the house didn't you? the stove, refrigerator etc. or was it used? the only bad thing i remember about the kitchen was the choice of slate under the chairs,---they hung up on it and now and then chipped or slivered off...i think it came from Placerville,,,maybe from Roy Riley or something? i wonder what year we got the dishwasher..i would have thought they were pretty new at that time, but maybe they'd been around quite awhile. i do dishes by hand now in this house...just a sink of hot water and soap, rinse and stick in the drainer...before now, i'd never lived in a house without a dishwasher that i remember...well, not counting the dorms at Berkeley.

dirty ~ clean...

dirty ~ clean...

since we run the dishwasher at night...while we're doesn't stay on clean for long. in the gets emptied...and we start putting the dirty dishes in there again.

speaking of dirty...

when i interviewed for my current of the people that interviewed me (there were nine in all) said...we already know you're qualified...we're just trying to see if we can all get along. so...tell me a joke.

i said...ok...but its a dirty joke.

eyebrows raised.

i said...two white horses fell in the mud.

he chuckled.

i said...yeah...its laughed....and...isn't that the point of a joke. i mean...i know you're laughing at me...but laughed.

These spots are deposits which can be scrubbed away (unlike rust which eats away the metal) In such conditions, once a month cleaning will prevent formation of brown spots.
